Valar Morghulis!

I’ve been staring at my keyboard for a while now not knowing where to start. How do I describe the feeling I had while I was in Dubrovnik? How do I explain how beautiful the city of Dubrovnik is? Hmmmm. You just must go! I promise, you will be blown away and there won’t be anyone to catch you.
As a die-hard fan of game of thrones, I chose Dubrovnik for the sole reason that I could visit King’s Landing. (Yes, King’s Landing was shot in the old town of Dubrovnik) I know it’s unbelievable but it’s true, I went all the way to Croatia because of Game of thrones. My friends (especially my darling Konnie) thought my obsession was crazy especially because after I got back from the trip, I started the entire series again from season 1-6. You really shouldn’t blame me because after visiting King’s landing, the Red Keep, Qarth, and even recreating Cersei’s walk of shame…. I just had to. The feeling I had while watching the show again and seeing the places I had been to was inexplicable. If you are not a fan of Game of Thrones, im not sure this post will excite you because its almost all about Game of Thrones….and that’s why I even titled it “Valar Moghulis’, a line only the fans would understand but because you asked, i’ll tell you… It means ‘all men must die.
Anyways, from the moment I landed, to the time I took off, Dubrovnik was ‘bae’ and I really need to go back.
Just like Iceland, Croatia is not a Schengen country but you can visit if you already have a Schengen visa.

I stayed in Hotel Neptune, the view was something else.

I went there for the Easter weekend, first thing I did was to walk round the walls of the old town of Dubrovnik, it’s a town surrounded by a medieval wall and various forts. The wall was built in the 10th century to protect the city from attack from Serbia and it extends 2km around the edge of the city. It also takes about 2 hours to walk all the way round, so if you are going to do, be prepared. You wont regret it though, the view is amazing.

(I don’t know why they say you must eat an ice-cream in the Old Town, I even asked the people selling and they also didn’t know why it was a thing. Lol I still bought…. for pictures)

(my view of the Red Keep)

I did the Game of Thrones tour. My tour guide was an extra from GOT and he had so much to tell and show us.

(house of the undying from GOT)

(say hello to King’s Landing)

(replica of King Joffrey’s Chair)

(my tour guide had pictures from various scenes and he took us to every one)

(first time Jamie came back with his one hand lol)

(when King Joffrey was attacked by an angry mob)

(entrance to Little Finger’s brothel)

(staircase where Queen Cersei started her walk of shame. I really didn’t know she didn’t walk naked in real life. Someone else did the walk and they put her face)

(walk of shame)

(Arya Stark’s needle)

Just see how beautiful!!!

Before I left Croatia, I did a day trip to Montenegro and on the last day, I did a day trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina (I must confess, I totally never knew about these countries until I planned my trip to Croatia and don’t worry, the pictures will be in a separate post)

Thank you for reading till the end

Xx
